General Behavior
Anti-Harassment
Harassment is prohibited. This includes unwelcome or inappropriate conduct, comments, or behavior that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for another person. Harassment may be verbal, physical, sexual, or discriminatory in nature.
If someone informs you that your behavior is unwelcome, you are expected to stop. Event staff will take appropriate action based on reports, observed behavior, and overall safety concerns.
If you feel unsafe or need assistance, contact Security immediately. Staff have radios and can help.
*There are staff with radios at all entrances and exits to the faire grounds, in the Tavern, and at Base Camp.
Costuming for Patrons
Costumes are optional, but we heartily encourage every patron to don their finest garb and join the revelry of Whidbey Ren Faire! If you’d like to outfit yourself for the occasion, visit our clothing vendors — many offer full ensembles or even one-day rentals.
This is a family-friendly event, and nudity, partial nudity, sexually explicit attire, and adult-themed props are prohibited.
Property Rules
We are a themed event and many items that are appropriate in the present were not available in the historical period. Please help us maintain the illusion by minimizing cell phone usage or other modern items in front of our patrons during event hours.

Animals & Accessibility
Pet Policy
ADA Considerations
Accessible parking is provided, but fills up quickly. DO NOT PARK in ADA parking without a placard or applicable license plate, or your vehicle will be towed. Please note that the site is a natural field with no paved walkways. We recommend bringing a companion if you use mobility devices. There are some areas that are on slight slope.
We recommend wearing shoes that are comfortable, closed toed, and fully affix to your feet, rather than having open backs.
Business Practices
Non-Exclusivity
To provide the best possible experience for our guests, Whidbey Ren Faire does not offer exclusivity to any vendor, performer, or partner. We maintain an open marketplace where everyone has equal opportunity to participate. This approach increases variety, encourages quality, and ensures fair competition across the event.
Background Checks
Background checks are required for any staff, volunteer, performer, contractor, or participant whose role involves direct interaction with minors. This includes youth programming, children’s activities, or any position designated by WRF leadership as youth-facing.
Completion of a background check is required for assignment to these roles and must be approved by WRF prior to participation.
Safety & Participation Eligibility
Whidbey Ren Faire reserves the right to remove any individual from the event or campgrounds if their behavior, reported conduct, or presence is determined by staff or Security to pose a safety risk to guests, participants, or the event. This includes individuals involved in sexual, violent, or otherwise threatening conduct, whether observed directly or reported by others. Removal may occur at the discretion of Security, with no refund, to ensure the safety of all attendees.
